Meet our coaches
Meet Glen; Owner, Co-founder, Coach. With 25 years experience in all facets of sports and recreation I have a passion for fitness and helping others achieve their goals. I carry my Australian Strength Conditioning Association (ASCA), Athletics and Rugby tickets. What ever the sport, who ever the athlete we can work and train to get the best out of you. Played touch football, oz tag, junior nationals in polocross and first grade football from a young age to my late 30's in rugby and rugby league. Have experience in coaching first 15 Rugby through to Senior Rugby and Junior Representative Level. I have coached beginner athletes right through to Nationals in a variation of sports. My experience grew where I worked side by side with troubled youth who were one step away from prison and found with the right guidance and belief you can inspire and put hope in someone who are made to believe they have nothing. It inspired me to realise that my belief in someone could actually make a life changing difference. I look forward to meeting you one day. |
Meet Martha; Owner, Co-founder, Coach.
Sometimes the only thing holding us back is lack of support but don't let that stop you from chasing your dreams. As a Co-Founder of GMG Sports Training my passion for fitness started early. I spent much of my youth running my own triathlons against myself. Cycling a dusty gravel road, running grassy hills and swimming against the seas current in a channel down the beach till dark, cold and soaking with sea water, then running home in darkness to dry off. Always trying to beat my times, beat the boys at sprinting and try every physical sport I could including home style WWF. I am always happiest while physically active taking every opportunity. Now, with a background and experience in sprinting, kick boxing, triathlons, distance running, netball, volley ball, touch football, oz tag, rugby union and rugby league and obstacle racing I found my niche in Rugby League playing at my height in North verse South in Western Australia. Later coaching touch football in Invercargil NZ, and finally after many years following my dreams and becoming educated, qualified and gaining experience in coaching Speed and Agility, Athletics Level 2 and a Rugby Coach. In addition I also hold qualifications in Community and Motivational Coaching. I enjoy working with children and adults to build the basic fundamentals as well as coaching athletes to achieve Districts, Regionals, State and Nationals in track and field events, most importantly with my knowledge, expertise and experience I enjoy working with all participants helping them to build self esteem and confidence. We have invested much time in GMG to build a culture that Glen and I are passionate about and a community spirit that extends beyond training to support and lift each other up. Nau mai, haere mai. Come and be welcome. |
Meet Ana:
Hello my name is Ana Gamlin. As the daughter of Glen and Martha Gamlin I have been able to learn, observe and also be trained by them. I have learnt many important social and coaching skills to the point that I have become a qualified fitness Instructor. Currently I am upholding Certificate II in sport and Recreation, Certificate III in Fitness, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. I also hold a Certificate in Community Coaching. I have been working for GMG casual for 4 years and during that time I trained and worked with young aspiring athletes as well as children and teens who are beginners to a sport or group training classes in general. As a coach it is a rewarding feeling watching the kindness and support that the group give each other, an example would be the encouragement and leadership that the older athletes provide to the younger ones. As a fitness instructor that is the type of training and safe environment I want to provide to you. I want to become the fitness instructor you rely on and know that I will provide results and help you reach your fitness goals in a safe and positive environment. I look forward to see you at our next classes. |
Hello my name is Tiarni Bryce, I’ve been trained by Glen and Martha since the age of 11. Watching
the way that they connect and help young athletes through training is inspiring and something I
want to do myself. I currently hold my Australian Strength and Conditioning (ASCA), Foundation
Touch Football Coaching and currently completing my Certificate III in Education and Support.
I have been involved in many sports growing up, some being, Touch Football, Volleyball, Athletics,
Cross Country running and Calisthenics. Touch Football being my main sport where I have
represented Gold Coast, Queensland and Australia.
Working with young athletes has always been my passion. I love seeing them grow as a person as
well as watching them achieve their sporting goals. Sport has always been an outlet for me and has
helped me be who I am today. Training with Glen and Martha has allowed me to grow in confidence
in every aspect of my life and I can’t wait to do the same for others,
