Athletes Fundraising for NZ Trip

Hi team,

Yes! we are fundraising again.  A supply of Yummy Chocolates (shown right) will continue our FUNdraising efforts.
INCENTIVE: Athletes here is how this will work for you.  Every $50 box you sell, $30 will go to Cadbury and $20 will go towards your name for the trip to NZ in 2014. The more you sell the more fundraising for you!
If you change your mind to not go to NZ with G.M.G Sports Training in 2014.  The money you raised will stay in the fundraising account and be divided between other athletes who are going.  The money raised is for the athletes and will be contributed towards the travelling expenses.

Goodluck and thank you all for your continued support".

Term 3 G.M.G NZ Indigenous Sports Training Camp - GYMPIE

Athletes Fundraising for
NZ Indigenous Camp.

Announcing a school holiday sports training camp with a difference.  Promoting understanding and acceptance of others, in a hands on environment!

Here's why... this year G.M.G have offered a camp experience to our registered G.M.G Athletes and available to all nationalities to experience some of NZ's Indigenous Culture on the Sunshine Coast! This includes a traditional powhiri (welcome), above ground hangi (food) prepared by athletes who take the leadership of tangata whenua (people of the land), every child delivered their pepeha (genealogy) infront of the entire group in te reo (Maori Language). Activities including poi making and waiata (song) are included. The parent helpers are asked to step back while the leaders of the group are encouraged to step forward in a safe supportive and caring family environment.

That's not all... GMG invited guest speakers to further educate our young athletes and have had the privilage of a successful Australian Sports Medicine Tutor as a guest speaker. Gary Johnston of aboriginal origins to further develop our athletes in sports medicine and he also shared values of banagarra (respect) of ourselves and others and the importance of positive role models.

Proven to be a successful team & self confidence building experience all the athletes who returned from the last 3 camps  embraced the culture and it's differences to their own personal lives and we as a combined group have decided to take it a step further... to go to NZ and experience the Maori Culture on it's own soil and spending the night on a marae (large house for gathering & sleeping).  We have planned to do as we have done at the last 3 indigenous camps, guest speakers, including sports training competitions for physical growth, the trip over will develop social growth and leadership opportunities for personal growth.

In hope the experience will continue to encourage understanding and acceptance of other cultures, not just kiwi, but all cultures and ourselves to enrich the lives of our young athletes and help guide positive future role models in our communities.

Please note that Term 4 camp in Currumbin will not be a NZ Indigenous Sports Training Camp as our regular whanau (family) venue is no longer available due to travel commitments.

Thank you everyone for your support and if your child/children is interested in joining G.M.G Sports Training please use the contact box above and click us an email.

G.M.G Sports Training offers so much more than other clubs, this is not just a business, we are investing our hearts in your children as well... (quoted from testimonial from Greg & Gayle Lock)

Ps the dvd for term3 camp is no longer available.
